I gave a lecture at “YOSS” Workshop in the Osaka Metropolitan University.
On June 20, 2024, I had the opportunity to give a lecture to elementary and junior high school teachers and board of education members at the YOSS (Yamano Osaka Screening System) workshop, hosted by Professor Noriko Yamano’s research laboratory at Osaka Metropolitan University. YOSS is a screening tool developed by Professor Yamano and her team to identify hidden signs of distress in children and provide appropriate support to children and families who may need it (https://www.omu.ac.jp/info/research_news/entry-03237.html). Regular workshops are held for teachers and school officials to promote the use of YOSS. This time, I presented on the topic “Supporting Children with the Community: A Social Epidemiology Perspective,” discussing how communities and schools can work together to support the children and their caregivers in need. I received valuable feedback from the participants, which was very enlightening. [Here are the presentation materials (in Japanese)]Go to detail
